Multimodal Transportation Hub Opens in Georgetown

Capital Area Rural Transportation (CART) celebrated on October 29th the new opening of its multimodal transportation hub in Georgetown. The new station in Georgetown will have a large impact on the nine-county transit organization. General Manager, David Marsh, stated "To have a station in the northern end of our district on I-35 to coordinate and be connected to the other stations and Capital Metro services is what made Georgetown important."

The new Georgetown station is located at 3620 S. Austin Avenue and serves as home base for five public transportation services. Over the next three to four months the first fixed-schedule public transportation services will be rolled out to the area. The services provided will be based on community input and can vary by community. In the future, CART plans to connect  Georgetown and the nine other counties it serves to Austin Capital Metro Bus and rail services.
