Following up on more of the handmade art objects  from American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, take a look at  some of the pieces from the wood artisans.

I love this wooden duck. Notice how the  position of the egg changes as the duck rolls along. Fell in love with this piece and bought if for Doug's new baby boy. Can't wait to give him the gift.

This sculptured jewelry box in closed form and then a similar one opened. The artist has also incorporated a hidden compartment for that special treasure. I happen to think each of these pieces are special treasures.

Another trapezoid box by the same artist ,Eugene Watson, shown closed and then open. The inside is lined with ultra-suede. They are for special collectors... fun to touch, play with and also are useful for holding your very special items.

This game table with matching bench can also be raised to  table height. Artistic and functional all at the same time. This would be a welcome addition to any home.

Hi, Margaret!

An agent in my office and I are coming to Baltimore at the end of this month for a 1/2 day class.  I'm going to need some recommendations for lunch.  Maybe we can see some nice sites like this?

Or even better, maybe we can see you?  :D

I just love hand-made wooden art.  Those jewel boxes are fabulous. When my kids were little, they had some pull toys like those.  But anymore, do kids actually do anything pro-active with their toys?  Seems like everything is computerized now :(

Margaret:  Wooden toys are very unique and so much more interesting than the typical plastic variety!

Fascinating boxes -- I can't imagine the hours it took to create these!  Personally, I like the game table the most -- I've always had fun playing backgammon.   But that duck with the egg that moves around is absolutely adorable!!!

Handmade wood items are the BEST Margaret as they are something you certainly do not find out there any place.

You must be having a blast at this art event. It's pretty amazing what artisans can do with wood, and media. The duck will make a great gift!

Margaret, cool wood designs. My wife and I like anything handmade like this, especially with secret compartments.

Karen, Doug is my computer guru so I thought this would perfect for his first son.

Jane, I think so.

Vickie, Agreed.

Gary, Good to see you.

Melanie, The table is very special. Love the way the wooden screws can be removed and the height of the table raised.

Jeff, I am stretching out the  show. It was only here for the end of February. I appreciate when you share artists from you area.

Ted, The compartments were concealed by using magnets.

Roger, They carry the items from many of the artists from the ACC. I love stopping in those stores in NYC also.

Rich, Thanks for stopping by.
