..."It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently..."  Tony Robbins

Consider the turtle.  Slowly, he crawls.  Bit by bit.  He may not be the one to get there first but he'll get there... one slow step at a time.

I'm a Weight Watcher.  I've learned the hard way that losing seven pounds in one week can be done.  I did it once!  But I couldn't sustain that nor did I keep those seven pounds off.  Finally, I learned that losing weight successfully means one slow ounce at a time.  One tiny little pound each week, equals fifty two pounds in one year!  Now that's doable!  Consistently eating a little less and moving a little more works!

Losing weight, learning a new skill, winning a race, building your business, all require consistent, steady effort.  Just like eating an elephant...one bite at a time.

I like your outlook!  I think the mindset of "making healthy choices" rather than "eating less" works best.  It makes me feel I am doing something wonderful for myself rather than sacrificing.

Congrats on losing weight that is tough to do on a consistant basis.  I have always pictured myself as the tortoise.  I just keep on plugging away, inch by inch.  Have a great week!!

Jeanne, good point.  I do work constantly on making healthy choices but find that even with healthy foods, I need to eat a little less.

Suzanne, It has been a struggle.  After 40 years of being thin, I guess mid-life caught up with me and for the past 20 years it's been work to stay thin.  Finally, I think I get it.  No more diets for me, just a healthy, consistent way of eating and exercising.

In this business today, if you don't have the willingness to "keep on keeping on" you are sunk!  I consistently focus on the positive!

Mom - One of my all time favorite stories is "The Tortoise and the Hare"...I guess, I learned from the best, but sometimes forget to slow down and remember consistency!  I'm am not on a diet anymore, I am making a Lifestyle Change :0)

Marian ~  So well presented!  We are living in an "instant gratification" world, and I'm no different.  Thanks for the eye-opener -- I just gave myself a "thunk" on the back of the head!

Terri, so true.  Sometimes the rewards are slow to show, but eventually they'll catch up with your consistent efforts.

Amy, we all want instant gratification but that easy fix won't hold up over time.

Hey Tish.  I hope you didn't "thunk" too hard.

Marian, I like your outlook..."Slow and steady wins the race".  In this fast paced world we seem to forget this message.
