Time Management Tips You Can’t Do WithoutWe all struggle to find enough time in our day. Managing our daily events, tasks and to-do's can leave us feeling riddled with stress and frozen in a spiral of wasted energy.

Between email, phone calls, projects and team meetings, it can feel as if every time we turn around a new to-do has popped up on our list.  It's easy to see why our days feel frantic when everything seems to be tugging at us all at once.

Below are a few tips on how to manage your daily activities more effectively:

Track Your Activities

I track phone calls, time spent on projects and even the time I spend responding to friends and fans on Facebook.  Stop wondering where the time went and take control with this handy online stopwatch.  You are less likely to waste away time chatting with a friend about the barbecue this weekend when the stopwatch is counting down the minutes in front of you!

Be A Password Master

Do you find yourself scouring sticky note after sticky note for elusive passwords only to find 15 minutes later that you must have dumped it in the trash during a recent cleaning spree?

Roboform is a password manager and web form filler that will help stop the madness!

Roboform password management

Here's how it works:

Just visit a site, login and Roboform will securely save your login information.  The next time you visit, you are automatically logged in.  Plus, you can access your Roboform logins from any computer with Roboform everywhere.  Talk about the brain cells I've spared...yikes!

Want to try Roboform? You can grab a free trial download right here.

Manage Your Time Spent Online

Who of us hasn't found time slipping by as we surf the web?  RescueTime  is a robust application that helps you identify how and where you are wasting your time online.  Once you set it up, it will run in the background analyzing the amount of time spent on each website and application.  Beware:  It can be a real eye opener!

Rescuetime time management

And last but not least, realize that there are only 24 hours in a day and completely managing your time at all times is not going to happen.  All you can do is manage the events, tasks and to-do's as best as possible to alleviate any additional stress.

Rebekah, useful tips, especially the 'passwords' management...I've actually resorted to a clipboard notepad just to make sure I don't toss them.  Thanks.

Rebekah,

I'm not quite as trusting as you..... I won't store my passwords (altogether) on my computer.  I still use the trusty index cards (taped together) to keep all of my passwords close at hand.

Roboform seems to be a helpful tool. I hate have to remember 15 different password format for 15 different sites. Thanks for sharing it.

Rebekeh, I love it and just forwarded to my wife. The only one I have doubts about is Roboform. I keep all my passwords on a spreadsheet that I can easily change when necessary and I would have a problem trusting an outside entity with my vital information.

Thank you Mimi!!!

Ruby - Roboforms is soooo much better than a clipboard or any other way you are storing them now!

Cristina - Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Kathy - Why fix what isn't broke, right?  If it's working - just keep on doing it!

You will love it Mike!  It will make life so much easier!

Ray - I can understand the trust issues but I can tell you that I've never had a problem in the many years I've been using it.

I haven't heard of RescueTime so I will have to check it out.  Time managment is so important in this business; many people waste too much time online.  I use password safe to store my passwords.  Thanks for the useful tips!

Password managment? I would have never thought of that as a time management tool, but you are absolutely correct.

A free alternative to Roboform is LastPass.  It is at least as good, if not better (according only to reviews I read before choosing for myself).  Plus, either program has the added benefit of allowing you to create better, stronger passwords because you don't have to remember them every time (or, as you pointed out, spend time looking for that elusive list).  Create one master password to LastPass (or Roboform) and that's it.  Save time, create a more secure environment.

As a safety backup, however, I also have a google doc, shared with nobody, that has all my logins, too.  I never change my passwords unless I'm forced to (hate it when that happens), so I don't lose time having to update that online document.

Wow.  Awesome ideas.  I love the stop watch one.  But I also love the password one (I have a huge sheet of paper with a million written down - totally safe!)  And, I love the Roboform thing! never heard of it!

Good advice! As a business owner, personally I believe that in order to be very effective with time management, we should track how the time is spent originally.

Using any efficient time management application could help to get more organized and improve productivity. At all time, I would like to use Replicon's time tracking software for managing the time.
