Wordless Wednesday: Ellicott City Mural

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

My neice, Robin is a mural artist in Portland, Oregon.  And since she has had some recent unveilings of her work, I've become more aware of murals in this area.

This is a photo I took on Sunday on a trip to Ellicott City's old historic section.  It's on the side of a building on a side street that goes up a hill.  And right above this building, there is a row of really, really old houses - like 1700's houses - that look a lot like these!.

If you are planning a move to or from the Washington, DC area, I can help.  Call, email or text me at:

Robert, old house painted on old house - quite reduncant.

And Krista, I'm much more aware of them these days, now that I have some understanding of what it takes to paint one.

It's certainly incredible. I've always been very impressed with those who can do something with a paintbrush.

This one is really cool.  Funny how some murals don't need to be painted over and others do.

Very impressive. I have a real appreciation for those who can create art. Especially, those who can do it on a side of a building.

Pat, I really like that!  It always impresses me to see murals on buildings because of their massive size I guess!

I love these - they really are fun and whimsical. I'll have to look for your niece's work in Portland the next time I'm across the river. Where are they?  It would be fun to see them and take a few photos for you...

Pat,

I'm a fan of urban murals so thanks for showing this one.  How about a picture of your nieces?

Banksy has given street art legitimacy.  Ask your niece about him.

Patricia,

very cool photo. I once had a listing that I thought nobody would want; it was my first month of real estate.  I listed a 1940s grocery store in a rough part of town, It was crumbing.  However, it had a mural and a local business man didn't want to see it torn down.  So, he bought it!  What was so interesting?  The mural.
