My friend is Dr. Seuss. He’s my guide. He’s my muse. I like him when things seem obtuse. When life tastes tart, the good doctor was smart. His answers were simple, rare as a dimple. I like him when I’m blue. I like him when I have the flu. He says things, all so true; he helps when I simmer in a stew.
The doc put the Fox in Socks, the Cat in the Hat, and the Horton in the Who. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. The doc embraced the clock until the last tock; he spun a rhyme until it was his time.
He still comes to mind when it’s wisdom I seek to find. Oh, what a strong spirit, can’t you just hear it?
This brings me to the rain. I don’t wish to abstain.
Some find pain in the rain. Some are insane in the rain. Some are weary. Some are teary. Some are high with scarcely a try. Some are smooth and have found their groove. Some struggle with style despite many a trial. Some are a delight with no need to fight. Some prefer glib over fib. Some prefer flip than bite their lip.
All kinds for all signs. Isn't that what makes the rain go ‘round?
"You are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Yuer than You." ~ Dr. Suess.
