Lucketts Store is hard to describe. First thing to say is that it isn't exactly a "store". There is an antique shop, a design house and multiple venues spread out across the grounds. No matter where you look you can find a treasure. Some of the treasures are small pieces of jewlery or maybe a glass knob. Others are larger than a breadbox and might even be the size of a horse.
Built 1910, the house was originally the Lucketts post office, general store and Lucketts family home. Every month the design house features new arrivals set up in venues throughout the house. With cloe to 30 vendors there is a regular turnover of items. The eclectic selection is usually called vintage hip.
Restored in 1996 by the current owner Lucketts Store continues to draw crowds year round. Open 10-5 daily the store is located on Lucketts Rd just north of Leesburg. For anyone coming from DC it's about a 45 minute drive. For those of us who live closer by it's easier to to sneak by on a weekend to see what's new. The next Design House Weekend is April 6, 7 & 8th.
