One of the things I heart about AR is the differing opinions, learning opportunities, and the viral explosion when certain words hit cyberspace in the form of a blog. I will highlight five blogs here that did just that. Some of them show what is great about this place and some of them show the shady elements of any community. Some of them I was involved in and some of them I sat back and watched more entertained than if you handed me a Sean Hannity/Barack Obama Sex Tape. ALL of them made the Blood Flow ...
First up, Aaron Auxier with this fine piece. Say what you want about the lad, but if you have done any homework at all ... he is at the very least interesting, and possibly smart. He stirred a few organs with that one among the community. God Forbid he gets his hands on my personal sex tape with William Shatner. And no, a William Shatner sex tape reference is never outdated. Of note, I hope that tape (Shatner & Me) isn't watermarked ... I don't want my curious vertical sixty-nine with Bill copied by anyone.
If I were to pick a person who I hoped to post more on AR, it would be Jeff Corbett. There are magnets and then there is electricity. THIS FINE PIECE is electric personified. We are a bit touchy these days, aren't we? Personally, I didn't mind the analogy.
What's worse than the Congressional Approval Rate? I'll tell you what's worse ... the folks that elect them. For a glimpse into that disaster, you may want to check this piece out. I wouldn't vote for any of the fools, including me at the time. But I kind of miss Jay Allen's ways ...
Okay, so those aren't quite great examples of the good parts of this forum. Controversey, while fun, should play second tier to having a beer and getting along with folks who are singing the same song. Linda Davis is superb and I miss her take. Talk about a pulse on the market ... this piece still reigns true today. Yeah, think about it.
Last but not least, this gorgeous piece represents a community so immersed in itself that the you wonder if there is a world outside of it.
Trips down Nostalgia Lane are pretty cool. But the future is now. Remember the past, live in the now, the future could be pink ... if you are lucky:)
And where the hell has Mike Saunders & Lane Bailey been?
Regards,
Nostalgia
