Blogs That Make The Blood Flow.

One of the things I heart about AR is the differing opinions, learning opportunities, and the viral explosion when certain words hit cyberspace in the form of a blog.  I will highlight five blogs here that did just that.  Some of them show what is great about this place and some of them show the shady elements of any community.  Some of them I was involved in and some of them I sat back and watched more entertained than if you handed me a Sean Hannity/Barack Obama Sex Tape.  ALL of them made the Blood Flow ...

First up, Aaron Auxier with this fine piece.  Say what you want about the lad, but if you have done any homework at all ... he is at the very least interesting, and possibly smart.  He stirred a few organs with that one among the community.  God Forbid he gets his hands on my personal sex tape with William Shatner.  And no, a William Shatner sex tape reference is never outdated.  Of note, I hope that tape (Shatner & Me) isn't watermarked ... I don't want my curious vertical sixty-nine with Bill copied by anyone.

If I were to pick a person who I hoped to post more on AR, it would be Jeff Corbett.  There are magnets and then there is electricity.  THIS FINE PIECE is electric personified.  We are a bit touchy these days, aren't we?  Personally, I didn't mind the analogy.

What's worse than the Congressional Approval Rate?  I'll tell you what's worse ... the folks that elect them.  For a glimpse into that disaster, you may want to check this piece out.  I wouldn't vote for any of the fools, including me at the time.  But I kind of miss Jay Allen's ways ...

Okay, so those aren't quite great examples of the good parts of this forum.  Controversey, while fun, should play second tier to having a beer and getting along with folks who are singing the same song.  Linda Davis is superb and I miss her take.  Talk about a pulse on the market ... this piece still reigns true today.  Yeah, think about it.

Last but not least, this gorgeous piece represents a community so immersed in itself that the you wonder if there is a world outside of it.

Trips down Nostalgia Lane are pretty cool.  But the future is now.  Remember the past, live in the now, the future could be pink ... if you are lucky:)

And where the hell has Mike Saunders & Lane Bailey been?

Regards,

Nostalgia

Sardi, those are all great examples and I for one think that guy Aaron is one smart dude---or is that "a righteous dude?"

Mr. Sardi, You reached into a lot of Wayback Machine work for these...and explains a reblog I saw earlier after all this time since the original post :)  There seem to be a lot of blog voices from that time frame that have went silent in the Rain or reduced their frequency to the point of being unknown to anyone new to the Rain.

P.S.  Don't have too much caffeine the night before while sitting in a hotel room outside of Allentown if you want to sleep through the night, or you find yourself up at 4 a.m. reading and commenting in the Rain.  I just may regret this later today!   Bill

Home is where the hearth is.

I can't believe you gave more publicity to that fine piece....  the pink one I understand... but the crazy one?  Yeesh, I thought we had long buried that crazy-pants.

I must confess, when you described your man on man action with William Shatner, the blood flowed to a part of my body in such a manner that only my wife (along with some nubile, fine women) is able to bring about.

Jason, there are so many people I miss....and you made me work so hard reading all those!

But, you are right.  We used to have a lot more fun here, I think, than we do now.  Ah, the good old days!

Suzanne - There is still fun to be had, yet there are a few folks I miss terribly who provided not only fun but a good reason to why this place became what it is.  Slaybaugh, Lenza, Inna, MJ, ... but there are almost always diamonds in the rough.  But I like to look back.

Curtis - Two pointed soul, eh?  That surely beats what Jennifer calls me when I piss her off ;)

Satar - Sounds like you'll vote for Romney.  ;) ;)

May - I understand your dismay.  He's not exactly on my babysitter list.

Bill - I need to give you a call.  I HAVE to hear the voice behind what in my estimation is the future of this forum.

Bill - See above comment.

Buell - I'll give him smart.  Righteous ... jury is still out.  Speaking of juries ...

Winston - You were obviously drunker than I when you posted that comment and I hit submit to post.  Either that or I was drunker than you when I read the comment and probably should have linked to this post.  But I dig you, no matter how much you don't drink but seem like you are actually drinking.

Jason, I hear that things used to be much more interesting around here.  There were sit-ins on blog posts....what were they called again?  And, lots of late-night fun.

Things have tamed down quite a bit, I hear.  I think I heard about a club Chaos and TLW used to be a bit reckless, too.

These are just stories I heard.  And, I heard about Slaybaugh and Turner, too.

But, you have always been a legend, I hear.
