Franklin, NC has Craft Fairs, Festivals, Car shows to Veterans & Christmas Parades going on all through the year. One of the newest is the Mountain High BBQ Festival that is now in its 4th year. We are also holding the very 1ST. Motorcycle Rally this coming Aug. 17 - 19. They are calling it Smoky Mountain Rumble. Being a motorcycle enthusiast myself I am looking forward to that. - July 4 - 4th of July Parade in Historic Downtown Franklin 10:00 am until 1 pm. Parade begins at 10:00 am.

- July 20 & 21 - 9th Annual Franklin Folk Festival - A celebration of Appalachian heritage in Downtown Franklin. Over 40 living exhibits of authentic mountain living, food, entertainment and more. Call 828-369-7411 for details. Sponsored by Macon County Folk Heritage Association.
- July 26 to 29 - 47th Annual Macon County Gemboree - One of the oldest gem & jewelry shows in the Southeast. Contact 800-336-7829 for additional information.
- August 10 & 11 - 4th Annual Mountain High BBQ & Music Festival - Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center, U.S. 441 South, Friday 11am-9pm; Saturday 10am-7pm. For information call 800-336-7829.
- August 17 - 19 - 1st Annual Smoky Mountain Rumble Motorcycle Rally - This inaugural motorcycle rally will be held in Historic Downtown Franklin. Further details are to be announced. See the event's Facebook Page.
- September 12 - 15 - 59th Annual Macon County Fair - Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center, US 441 South of Franklin, NC. Experience one of the few remaining true agricultural fairs in the Southeast. Exhibits, live stock shows, and more.
