4th of July Fireworks Display Over the Hudson River!

Wednesday July 4th 2012 ~ 9pm

The Newburgh NY Waterfront is host every year to some amazing Fireworks over the Hudson River. The display begins Wednesday, July 4th at approximately 9pm and will be launched over the Hudson River from a barge.

Celebrations for the holiday begin earlier in the day with a street fair and vendors. Great food at the Newburgh Waterfront Restaurants keeps the public happy. If you are lucky enough to time it right, you can have dinner along the Hudson River with a spectacular view of the Fireworks. The idea is to reserve your table now for the big event!

Noon - 6 pm Art Show at Unisco Park on the Waterfront

6 pm - 9 pm- Music by Dr. Magkneetoe

9 pm - Fireworks on the Hudson River with simulcast by K104.

In addition, Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site on Liberty Street will host a “Grand Celebration” of their 162nd beginning in the morning and continue through the day. A July 4th parade and tours of the home are free and close to the Newburgh Waterfront. The lawn at Washington’s Headquarters is a perfect location for viewing the fireworks display and is open to the public.

Barbara ~ Up and Down the Hudson River are different locations for a great display of Fireworks on July 4th. Newburgh just happens to have some of the best, along with great restaurants. Easy access to the waterfront makes it very popular.

Barbara Jo ~ it does get quite busy in the evening. My office used to be on the waterfront there and we spent a couple of July 4th celebrations right there on the balcony watching so great Fireworks! I was sad when we moved...

Joanna... The views are great! Which bridge will you walk? If you are planning for dinner make sure to get reservations early, or you won't get seated. Eveyone wants those seats for the fireworks!

Janis, I don't think I'll be seeing to many fireworks this year, my daughter leaves for Italy on the 4th and I'll be at the airport, however they'll have plenty of lights for us to enjoy.

Ellen.. Wow .. Italy.. I so wish I was a kid again. SOOOOOOO many opportunities for them.. As far as fireworks? I think that while you are driving around you may catch some? If not.. you will catch them another day.. =) Best wishes for your daughters safe travel .. and maybe Mom is going to visit?? I love it! My daughter may be traveling for work this fall to South Africa.. and I'm hoping to be able to join her..
