Dear Listing Agent: Do You Know Where Your Listing Is Located?
For those of you who are not Realtors -- I apologize for this little rant. On our multiple listing reports in addition to the property particulars -- you know - address, price, number of bedrooms, number of baths and a bit of hyperbole or puffery(known as the marketing remarks) is the direction of the property.
Typically this will read something like this: North of Main Street, Two blocks west of 5th Street. I have been noticing with a bit more regularity when it comes to location of a property: Check your GPS, check Mapquest....or sometimes South of XYZ Freeway, 2 miles and then turn right and continue 5 miles …. With these vague directions, I wonder has the listing agent actually seen the property they have listed? Forgive me again --- I am not talking about properties that are 10 miles from the next closest neighbor but in developed and well-established neighborhoods.
Just curious...I wonder what do the sellers think when they review their property listing of their home?
