Can changing your address change your life?
I recently sold a home, in an Arizona Retirement Community, to a couple about 10 months ago. They were originally from North Dakota.
When they came here they purchased a home in a family community approximately 6 years ago. They had moved from a small town and wanted to have a new home. They had decided they did not want to live in an Arizona Retirement Community, yet. They found a new community and purchased.
Things were fine the first couple of years. Everyone was doing their yards, lawn chairs were out on Halloween to watch the children, etc. Then the bottom fell out of the Real Estate market.
The neighbor next door decided to open a daycare center, 25 children screaming in the backyard. The people across the street started renting out extra bedrooms. This lead to many cars parked in the street.
Long story short, they sold the house, lost money and moved to an Arizona Retirement Community. They main reason was to live in an HOA that enforced the rules. Rules are important in a community for maintaining quality of the community and resale values.
