WALKTOBERFEST ~ Attention all Humans and their Furry Friends!
The Humane Society for Greater Nashua invites you and your furry friends to the welcome fall at the popular pet-friendly Walktoberfest (Walk-a-Thon).
When: October 6, 2008 - Saturday -rain or shine
Where: Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Merrimack, NH
Time: 9:00-12:00 Walk-a-Thon - registration at 9:00 (Pet must be currently vaccinated and leashed)
10:00 Dog walk begins
Cost: $5.00/person ~ kids 11 years & under are Free. Admission is free if you collect a Walk-a-thon Pledge.
Proceeds: To benefit the Humane Society for Greater Nashua
Walktoberfest features a morning dog walk. There will be 40 pet-friendly vendors, an area for kids with games, an obstacle course, face painting, and a photo booth with fun props. There will be dog games with prizes for the winners. More than 100 prizes will be part of the raffle.
The popular police K-9 Unit will have demos and the New England Disc Dog Association and their high flying Frisbee dogs will be performing.
Music will be provided throughout the day by DJ Bernie of Perfect Entertainment, and WZID’s Mike Morin will emcee the morning events. There will also be food provided by the Common Man and Chef on Wheels as well as a beer tent for those ages 21 and older.
The Humane Society for Greater Nashua has taken in many pets who have become homeless for various reasons including recently flooding and foreclosures. They strive to find home for all these pets, but are in need of supplies as well. The Humane Society relies solely on community-wide support so please attend or send a donation.
