What a Wonderful Day for a Meetup!!
An Activerain Meetup, of course!!
Today a bunch of people, some old friends, some new met at Linwoods Restaurant in Owings Mills to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Research and to talk about how great ActiveRain is and how it brings people together to share stories and friendship and good food. The weather could not have been nicer.
An Activerain Meetup in Maryland would not be complete without Margaret Rome. What a fabulous hostess!! Margaret arranged for us all to get together today at Linwoods in Owings Mills where we had a private room and we were all able to sit at the same table and see each other and really talk about what makes this industry so great and how, without Activerain, we would not have known let alone socialized with one another.
I had the pleasure of meeting some new people, David Brandschain, who came all the way from Philadelphia to join our luncheon today. John Varga, Penny Lownes, Alan Gross, Whitney Garrett, Reuvan Bloch, Kerch McConlogue and of course Margaret's other half, to name a few were all new to me. And, Suzanne Razaq, the newest member of Century 21 New Millennium was also on hand.
The food was amazing. This was the first time I had been to Linwoods and I'll definitely be back. Our server told me afterwards that they have a Prix Fixe menu at lunch for $20 and at dinner for $35 where you can choose from a limited menu - appetizer, main meal and dessert. How great is that? Linwoods is located on the corner of McDonough and Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills.
The service was incredible too. Our server kept our glasses full of our beverages of choice while the conversation continued seamlessly and the food came out as ordered and was delicious. I had the beef tenderloin and it was melt in your mouth good. The soup of the day today was Gazpacho, which was excellent, very flavorful just like the vegetables were fresh from the garden. And, for desert fresh fruit and berries, were amazing. However, David's Old Fashioned Chocolate Sundae had me with a momentary feeling of remorse that I hadn't ordered that!! But, it was only momentary until I had a taste of the wonderful berries in my dish.
It was a wonderful day and we spent hours catching up and sharing stories and I was sad to leave at 3pm. I can hardly wait for the next event!!
Plus, I just read that our group raised almost $400 for Cystic Fibrosis!!
