Feeling Good!

One of the best parts of Monday mornings is the weekly e-mail from Art Fettig his weekly inspiration, humor and selected quotes always make me feel good.

That’s not to say I always agree, especially with the quotes. Today’s quote for example from (Frank) Gelet Burgess, author, poet and humorist 1866 to 1951.

Gelet says: "If in the last few years you haven't discarded a major opinion or acquired a new one, check your pulse. You may be dead."

To witch I’d like to observe if your major opinions are changeable who’d notice your death?

Who’d care?

Stand for something!

George,

What can I say?

All I can do is hope that if you've changed a major opinion it is because I've lead you to enlightenment!

Laqura,

How true.

I have a strange history with Fettig. Back when I was head of education for the Kalamazoo Board of REALTORS he wanted to speak to the Board we talked several times and he said he'd send me a book and tape. The book arrived signed for someone else! Well I made a huge mistake! I didn't read it or play the tape for several years.

When I smashed my leg and lay in bed most of 9 months I read the book! I've been a fan ever sense. I was just out of power.

Since then I try not to dismiss people just because I'm offend at first contact. Art's book "Selling Lucky" inspired to to finish my first book.

Hi Bill,

Good Monday Morning to you and Brenda,

It's good to see you have a routine to start your week off.

My major opinions and beliefs are subject to change. The more I learn and experience, the more refined my opinions become. After all these years they are pretty well refined.

Bill, Mr R,

Perhaps there is a difference in the way we define "major opinions?"

Not to be confused with education and experience, just tempered by it.

I think my "major opinions" are pretty close to what I finished high school with, of course I had some pretty great mentors starting with my Dad and Grandfathers, their friends and mine. Many of my ideas about real estate were formed communing to college with my best friend, tempered and refined, yes, but the "major opinions" are about the same.

Looking back you might not recognize the good looking young body, but listing or reading to what I had to say in those years you'd know me.

Or our differences may be nil. Maybe, just maybe I'm forgetting that I have "major opinions" today on subjects that didn't exist before.

All things conspired I still disagree with Gelet. I don't like dealing with wishie washie people, I'd rather deal with the enemy that people who are constantly redefining themselves!

C'est Moi, c'est moi!

Hi Bill, I think we are confusing "core beliefs" with major opinions. My core beliefs are pretty much unchanged since I was 18 (however many centuries ago that was) but my opinions are subject to change. As Joe Friday said, "just the facts ma'am." But the facts aren't always easy to get. We form opinions when we first hear about something, but our opinion is subject to change as the facts come out.

I don't think this is being wishy washy.
