Your Fall Business Plan Check-Up!

As we approach the middle of October, you may be looking back and wondering where this year has gone.  The busy lifestyle real estate industry professionals lead often has you running from one thing to the next and, before you know it, another year has gone by!

We wanted to take a moment to slow down and help you reflect on how business has been going.  Have you met certain goals for the year?  Did you take on the new business ventures or marketing tactics you wanted to master this year?

Back in December, just before the new year hit, we pointed out four ways to create a solid business plan.  Here’s a quick overview of the key factors.

1. Define Your Business- In order to know where you want to go; it’s important to have a solid identity.  Create a mission statement if you haven’t already, understand how you’re different from the competition and even identify your strengths and weaknesses so you can address them before moving forward.

2. Define Your Audience- Many of you in real estate may have a niche market or lean towards a particular demographic.  Understanding your target audience will help you create a clear plan in how to reach them by knowing their needs and priorities.

3. Define Your Goals- This is one of the key aspects!  You have to know what you want to achieve!  More importantly, break your goals down into bite size pieces and set deadlines for yourself.  This will help keep you on track throughout the entire year.

4. Define Your Strategy- Now that you’ve got the other pieces down; figure out how you’re going to get there.  This can include everything from print marketing to your online presence, and from social media to listing presentations.  Creating plans of action for each of your goals will ensure you reach them!

We hope that your business plan has taken you to new levels this year and that it’s been going better than you could’ve imagined!

But, maybe you’ve realized that it was harder to stick to your business plan than you thought, and the daily grind has taken over causing your plan to get lost under the stacks of papers overwhelming your desk.  And you begin to think... “maybe next year...”

Believe it or not, it’s not too late to finish the year out strong!  Dust off that business plan and take a minute to read through it to help regain your passion for what you wanted to accomplish!

If you didn’t create a business plan last year, take some time to think through the four points above and see how you begin now to define your business, audience, goals and strategy.  While you may not get to everything you want to do this year, you’ll at least have a head start to make next year your most successful year yet!

Hopefully, after reading this post, you’ve found a renewed energy to go after what you set out to achieve for this year, or are ready to begin thinking through your business plan for next year!

Whatever the case, as Real Estate Virtual Assistants, we’re here to help in any way possible!  Whether you want to embark on the latest in social media, tackle your website, implement new marketing strategies or find ways to lighten your load so you can focus in on what you do best; we would love to help you achieve your goals!

How has this year turned out for you?  Have you taken on new endeavors that have proven to be successful?  Do you already have goals in mind for next year?  We’d love to hear your thoughts!
