When the Sun Goes Down

By

The hardest part about being self-employed in an industry which can turn from white hot to ice cold in a single day (I've seen it more than once!), is learning to trust yourself and your business systems.

Early in my career I had more personal time away from the office because my children needed me and it wasn't a choice. But once they were off to college and out of the house, I found myself spending more and more.... and more time in work mode and a whole lot less in life mode.

Fortunately, I've recently realized my life is not in balance.

I'm working on it, but to be honest, it's a daily struggle.

For me, it is hard to step back and mentally detach from the myriad tasks which remain unfinished.

Tonight I was able to put a check mark in the balanced column as I ended a great day to a wonderfully productive week.

Dinner with family at a favorite restaurant, watching the sun go down...

I definitely need to practice this more!

Oh! Me too! It's time for a trip to my favorite little restaurant in Seabeck. Where you can just watch the seagulls and eagles flying right outside the window, or from the deck. Great way to re-charge

Colleen, I was telling my running partner, who is also a realtor, that you have to learn to say "NO". Once you get good at it and you start enjoying your friends and family more, it's easy! LOL
