Things to do in Alameda:  Santa Claus is coming to Christmas Tree Lane on Thompson Avenue in Alameda every evening from 5:30 to 10 pm.  It is the first night the lights go up.  Santa will be there through December 23rd from 6:30PM to 8PM.  Thompson Avenue is between High and Fernside and most of the homeowners decorate their homes lavishly.  Rain cancels Santa’s visit.

Things to do in Alameda: Thank You Show and Benefit for the Alameda fire victims, on December 19, at 8:00 pm, hosted by Stephen Petersen at Roosters Roadhouse at 1700 Clement Avenue.  Admission is $10.

 

 

Things to do in Alameda:  The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, December 20 and Tuesday, December 23 mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine.  All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices.  So good!  Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers.  The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.   

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks on December 20, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco.  The trucks include Senor Sisig, Little Green Cyclo, Whip Out! Rocko’s Chocolate Tacos, Cluck it Up, Lobsta Truck, Licensed 2 Grill, Out of the Cave, Bowl’d Acai.

Things to do in Alameda:  The 10th Annual Celebration of the Nutcracker Ballet will be performed on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21 at 2:00 pm,  at the Kofman Auditorium at 2200 Central Avenue in Alameda.  For information and tickets please call 510-337-1929.

Things to do in Alameda:  Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun and learn “Low Tide Exploration” bring you mud boots to do some exploring in the mud.  Afterwards, finds out what’s new at the cove with on Saturday, December 20, at 2:00 pm.  Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.

Coming events in Alameda:

Wednesday, December 31 at 7:30 pm “Dance Like A Star” at the USS Hornet’s New Years Eve party featuring the big band classics by 3 O’Clock Jump.  Food, beverages for purchase and a silent auction and free dance lessons are just some of the fun.  Tickets are $45 to $85.  The USS Hornet is located at 707 W. Wednesday, December 31, from 6:00pm to 1:00 pm Celebrate 2015 at the Alameda Pacific Pinball Museum at 1510 Webster Street.  Free pinball play, finger foods, party favors and no-host bar.  Admission if $40 for adults and $25 for children 16 years and younger.  Proceeds benefit the museum.  For more information please call 510-769-1349.

Saturday, January 3, at 7:00 pm celebrate “A Victorian 12th Night Ball”.  The Dickens Fair Reunion Ball is presented by Period Events & Entertainment Re-Creation Society(PEERS).  Vintage dance lessons proceed the Ball.  There will be a no-host bar, light snacks and a performance by the Peerless Music Hall.  Victorian attire admired but not required.  Tickets are $20 if purchased by December 27; and $25 at the door.  The Ball will be held at the Alameda Elks Lodge at 2255 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda.  Please call 510-522-1731 for information and tickets.
