MINOT REAL ESTATE 101
Welcome to Bob Timm’s, National Marketing Realtors, Minot North Dakota Real Estate 101, lesson 2.
The purpose of this ongoing course is not to teach anyone to be a Real Estate genius but to simply help you know the absolute basics about Minot North Dakota.
The following map shows the crude approximate location of Minot Public Schools. Being located near an elementary school has always been a good thing when selling a home (adding to its value). Minot no longer offers “open enrollment” so the district you are in is where you will attend unless you opt for a private school.
The Street location of each school is:
ELEMENTRY
Bel Air 501 25th Street NW
Edison 701 17th Ave SW
Head Start 2815 East Burdick
Jefferson 3800 11th Ave SE
Lewis & Clark 2215 8th Ave NW
Longfellow 600 16th Ave NW
McKinley 5 5th Ave NE
Perkett 2000 5th Ave SW
Roosevelt 715 8th Street NE
Sunnyside 1000 5th Ave SE
Washington 600 17th Ave SE
MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Eric Ramstad 1215 36th Ave NW
Jim Hill 1000 6th Street SW
HIGH SCHOOLS
Central Campus 215 1st Street SE
Magic City Campus 1100 11th Ave SW
My children are Tina age 14, and Timmothy age 13. Both of my children are in the public school system and have attended from Head Start on. We live in the Sunnyside School District which is considered the poorest district however we have been delighted with the high quality education our children received at Sunnyside.
The far SE corner of Minot is a School District nightmare. 3 homes, side by side each other on the same block may each be in a different School District than the other. One home may bus their children 12 miles to the SW of town, one may send their child to a Minot school, and the other may send their children 3 miles to the North East. This is a new, high growth area of Minot. With NO open enrollment do not assume your child will get to go to the school you or they wish. There is a similar area of town in the very NE corner of Minot.
In lesson 3 we will talk about the Mouse River. At this time Buyers and Sellers along the Mouse River need to consider the pros and cons of homes on the river.
