Peach Days in Hurricane Utah | September 4-5, 2015 | Labor Day Weekend 2015
Labor Day Weekend is approaching and that means it's time for Peach Days in Hurricane Utah. This year promises to be a fabulous celebration (like every year!) The theme for Peach Days this year is "A Celebration of our Heritage". The event will be held on Friday 8/4/2015 and Saturday 9/5/2015.
Directions to the event are pretty easy, just drive up State Street in Hurricane and you can't miss the festivities!
I attended the first Peach Days when I moved to St George Utah 18 years ago, and I don't think I've missed one since. It's a fun event to take the whole family to and has become an annual tradition for mine.
There's always plenty of food booths showcasing many different types of cuisine. In years past, some of the local scout or youth groups have also had food booths to raise money for their organizations. There's usually at least one booth selling Navajo Tacos, a local favorite! Don't want a whole Navajo Taco? How about a piece of Navajo Fry Bread with butter and honey?
It wouldn't be Peach Days without booths selling different peach dishes. You can find dutch oven peach cobbler, peach smoothies, peach preserves and peach ice cream just to name a few. Of course, there's a Peach Cook-Off! You can also purchase cases of locally grown fresh peaches at Peach Days.
Be sure not to miss the annual Peach Days parade, pickleball tourney, rodeo, 12K run, Candy Cannon and Pioneer Corner. There's always local entertainment throughout the event too.
