Don't Be a Copycat, Be Original!

Being original will get you more clickds and phone calls, but sometimes can be a hard thing to do

Emma is adorable! Jan Green  great post.  Being original and breaking through is part of my goal in 2017.

I see the repeats in my inbox from about four different lenders.  Delete, delete, delete.

Being creative an original takes time and effort. But the alternative seems to be an automatic Delete for those who see us as copycats.

We all receive retweets or emails from friends and associates, yet, I'm not offended, I simply delete it if I've already read the original content. Usually, the subject line begins with FW for forward, so, it isn't a copycat message IMO.

There are some messages however that are new, informative and interesting, yet, the messenger or author isn't as important as the message when it's useful or helpful to my circumstances or lifestyle. 

Good point about that paid newsletter you thought was unique. Everyone is sending it lol.

Hi Jan Green. You hit the nail on the head.  And even though I personally write original content for our monthly newsletter and try to have original content on all of our marketing emails/mailers, a very large percentage still end up in the "deleted items" folder or trash/recycle bin.  That's just the nature of our business. Never the less, we will continue to do our best to be "original" as I smiled when I read about your lender email messages.  I get the same ones over and over! :-)

Their lack of imagination does save me a lot of time as I skim through the thousands of emails each week.
