Thank you Century Link for sponsoring the Ice Art Fest in downtown Carlisle, PA.
I had the opportunity to stroll through the Ice Art Fest today for a few hours and it was fantastic. The streets were filled with visitors enjoying the incredible carved ice sculptures and the children especially liked climbing onto the life size Harley Davidson sculpture. Events continue until 9PM this evening and continue Sunday, Feb. 12 from 10AM-5PM.

Hannah Williams - The weather was 55 degrees and sunny - a perfect day for the Carlisle downtown area to be bustling with visitors - and it was tremendous fun!
Debbie Reynolds - You're right - quite incredible! What a tremendous gift to have a block of ice before you and be able to carve such intricate beauty... For me personally, I find drawing a stick figure to be enough of a challenge!
Hi Maria Sapio - some very cool sculptures - no pun intended!

What a wonderful treat. Strolling the streets with such magical art. A rare talent indeed. Part of what makes it so special, I believe, is the fact of how quickly something so unique and beautiful will disappear only to be left in ones memory. Mark

It doesn't seem to get cold enough here for ice sculptures, so I have never seen one in person. They certainly do some incredible things with carving out art with ice!

Thank you Roy Kelley for stopping by to see my post and photos. It was a fun event and the weather was perfect too. Unfortunately, today we are having rain so I'm thankful most were able to get out to view the sculptures yesterday.
Brian England - Wood carvings are quite common in my area too. I have a pumpkin carved from wood that I put out with my autumn decorations...
I'm amazed that someone can look at a block of ice or a chunk of wood and see art within!
