Quick! Don't look closely! What are these kids doing?

OK!  Quickly!  What are these students doing?  The first thing I thought of was cell phones!  They appear to be checking their messages, checking email, paying no attention to their friends except with their phones!  Sure looks that way.....even though it was 1969 and they were posing for the Searcy Lion yearbook, it made me think of today!

Actually, I assume they got free treats of ice cream or milk.  Styles were different and things never stay the same.  Some clever photoshop expert could just change cups to phones and put leggings on the girls and we'd be current!  Perhaps Super Sleuth Don Thompson will try that!!

Barbara, thank you for sharing that picture. And yes, it would not take a lot to imagine that these young people a holding and looking at their cell phones.

Have a wonderful week!

Ha! Good one. I'm as guilty as anyone else.

When folks are abroad, they are checking their e-mail on Internet enabled devices as soon as they are near free WiFi. Instead of looking at scenery, they have their noses in their devices.

Monique, thanks for the comment.

Linda, I did notice the phone number on the truck.  Interesting.

Don, I have not been abroad with the new-fangled stuff but sounds as if you have!

Good morning Barbara. I knew the time frame and yet you are right, it could be cell phones.

O.K. Activerain is working again.

Here's your 1969 pic brought up to date.

Someone commented on the phone no. Letter prefixes came into use about 1955.

My phone number in Berkeley, CA in 1960 started with TH for Thornwall.

When we gave a phone no., we used the name and not the abbreviation.

That made it even more interesting.

Our prefix growing up was Windsor so it was WI and the truck made me think of that.

Joe, don't you wish phone numbers were still that easy to remember?  I can't even remember my relatives numbers anymore.
