Credit Repair really does work - patience is a virtue
Not everyone is credit worthy when they decide to purchase a home. In fact, in my experience, I'd say about 20 of those I speak with, need credit guidance. Buying a home requires minimum FICO Score of 580 (at least in Arizona) for some of our Home Buying Grant Programs, that score needs to be at least 640. When I met John and Blanca back in 2003, they wanted to purchase a home, but weren't quite ready. 18 Months ago, they reached out, it was time. We had a "qualifying" conversation and we determined credit building was required so off they went with one of my lender partners, Traci Gratzek of Nova Home Loans.
Over the next 18 months, John and Blanca went through the credit building and repairing process, following every step requested, and doing what was asked of them until we received notification, you are Pre Approved for a Home Loan! The fun began, we found their "forever" home, negotiated a contract and I am happy to say we closed on that home yesterday.
The moral to this story? Not every deal we come across is a "now" deal. Sure I could have "moved" on 15 years ago, never followed up, reached out and stayed in touch with John and Blanca, but I don't play that way. Everyone deserves shot at the American Dream, their shot just took a little bit longer.
