Wow, That's a RED Building!!

I have been showing a fair nuber of properties in some popular urban neighborhoods in San Diego - Normal Heights, North Park, University Heights - and have enjoy seeing the different architecture, both residential and commercial.

bright red building in San Diego

We've toured a bunch of craftsman style bungalows as well as several homes with more of a spanish influence. Not only are they smaller than many homes out in Carlsbad, they are older...built in the 1920s and 1930s.

I was in town again today to show a property and drove by this bright red building on one of tghe main roads, and had to grab a photo.

Hello Jeff. I love colorful buildings! They are so much prettier than drab gray or tan structures. This is a beautiful picture!

Good morning Jeff. That certainly is red. What a landmark and a good way to simplify directions. After the red building it the second street on the right.

Hello Jeff - seeing different neighborhoods may bring diversity in architecture as well as color. It certainly happens in many places but more noticeable when we step outside our own "normal". When I moved from Orange County, California to Washington,  D.C. I remember that feeling but as you know it can happen in our own backyards at times pending any HOA restrictions.

Hi Barbara Todaro  That's so true. The gingerbread houses in Oak Bluffs were pretty colorful but certainly not modern like this building. I've also seen from pretty colorful houses and commercial buildings in the Caribbean, in particular in Aruba.

It WAS pretty eye-catching driving down the street Nina Hollander . It was fun to see. Glad there was a place to pull over and park. Right down the street was a small comercial building - some sort of store - and it was all painted in rainbow colors.

I have to think about this for awhile to see if I like it. First impression is the red should be a darker shade. The second is that maintenace is going to be an issue.

Hi Michael Jacobs

That's so true. I enjoy seeing the diversity but sometimes I am too focused and not paying attention, and probably miss some of that wonderful diversity of style and color.

That is bright, I am not sure sun glasses would help, may be a better wake up than a cup of coffee in the morning.

Oh, now that is a 'pull-the-car-over' building that you HAD to photograph, Jeff! I love it - a far cry from the craftsman homes you had been showing!
