Colma is mainly San Francisco's cemetery.  It was mostly created because those who were deceased (like a lot of today's workers), could no longer afford to live in the city. Burials were baned in San Francisco in 1900.  The existing cemeteries were out of room.  And, the city's land was considered prime real estate!
