CUT WITH YOUR FORK.. PORK CHOPS.. YES, ANOTHER CROCKPOT RECIPE

By
Real Estate Agent with Johnson Real Estate, Inc. RES.0761759

Yes, this is another recipe for the crockpot.  Can you tell I live on the use of the crockpot.  Realtors have very busy lives.. I know, like who doesn't.  Anyway, this recipe was given to me when my children were in preschool and it has been a staple in our menu ever since.

1 Stick butter

2 Cups Seasoned Breadcrumbs

4/5 Boneless Porkchop (at least ½ inch thick).. other wise you will need to reduce the cooking time.

Slice butter into tabs; place ½ stick in bottom of crock pot. Cover butter and bottom of crockpot with 1 cup of the breadcrumbs.  Place porkchops on top of breadcrumbs.  Repeat the process again, place the remainder (½ stick) of butter on top of pork chops and cover with the other cup of bread crumbs.  Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.

The only moisture the pork chops get is from the meat itself and the butter.  If done right the bread crumbs will stick to the pork chops as if you have baked them.  However, they don't need to be cut, they break apart with a fork.

You can serve this with a baked potato or stuffing along with a salad.

sounds yummy.   my favorite pork chop crock pot recipe is to use thick center cut chops, and pour a can of chicken 'n star soup over them...and let them cook all day!

Have you tried it with less butter?  The amount of butter scares me, and I usually cut butter down 1/3 when I cook.  Do you think this would still turn out ok?  Also, I assume it works with chicken too?

Valerie, now your talking!!!!  Pork Chops are one of my favorites.  I have never had them cooked in a crock pot, but I am sure I would like it.

Donna.. You don't have to use that much butter.. as long as there are two tabs of butter on the bottom and top of each chop.  You can cut them as thin as you wish... the butter is what helps adhere the breadcrumbs to the pork chops

Patty, Have you ever made pork chops in the Crockpot?

George,  If your wife makes these some day, let me know what you think of them.

Penny, I hope you like them, when you make it.

Patrice.. It is very yummy, and it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen with the heat we are having.

Hi Valerie,

Although this isn't lo-cal I bet it's delicious. It seems like it would taste a little like stuffed porkchops.

Susan.. You are right, it might not be lo-cal, but it is very good.  You don't have to make it all the time, but once in a while a dish like this hits the spot.
