We started celebrating Independence Day early this year with our son, Matthew, and our grandson, Russell. These celebrations are so much more fun with family, especially our grandson. It is more fun watching Russell than watching the fireworks.
Every time one of our fireworks burst into full display, he would jump up and down with such excitement. Oh, to be able to view the world with such passion and wonder. As I get older, these moments become more and more fleeting. It can happen when a trout rises from the depths to take my fly or maybe when looking down from the penultimate height of a roller coaster just prior to the fall, but to be able to hold that feeling for so long...Priceless! So many adventures are coming for Russell. I am excited for him.
Whatever you are doing today and in the future, I hope it brings you wonder, excitement and happiness.
