Midway Hills is a well-established suburban community built in the 1950s and 1960s in response to the region's rising housing demand. Many of the older houses in the neighborhood have been demolished and rebuilt as modern custom residences or have had their characteristics modernized. Between $500,000 and $700,000 is the price range for traditional homes in the neighborhood.  More recent construction in Midway Hills commands a higher price tag, with some units fetching over one to two million. Several houses in the area are still built in the traditional ranch style popular in the area's early days. The original architecture of many of the homes has been preserved and enhanced over the years. Layouts can range from three to five bedrooms and two to four bathrooms in size. Many homes have backyards large enough to fit tiny swimming pools. The mature and huge trees and the paved sidewalks all contribute to the neighborhood's overall aesthetic attractiveness. More recently constructed homes in the area can cost more than a million dollars each. Given that the area was established in the 1950s and 1960s, conventional suburban homes appear to be in their golden years.
