Buying a Home at the Auction
With the real estate market being so competitive for traditionally listed properties you may want to check out auctions as an alternative source for a home.
Auction companies don't just list fixer-uppers, beware though. At auctions, buyers are often required to pay a "Buyer's Premium" at closing that mostly covers your agent's commission and buyers may also be required to pay all the closing costs for both the buyer and seller side.
I have listed homes at auction, and I have sold properties that were offered at auction. If you are buying a home and think you may want to look at homes available as well then you will want to have an agent that has experience negotiating sales at auction too.
Today, I am working with a buyer for a newly renovated home in the Fell's Point neighborhood in Baltimore.
