Someone wanting to look bald is definitely weird to me as I long to have hair once again. Everyone has their own sense of humor and One thing I've learned from watching old Ed Sullivan reruns on MeTV Sunday nights is that humor changes... even on a national level.

I really enjoy watching this half hour show that focuses mostly on music. It is easy to see that Ed Sullivan was on the cutting edge for recognizing top musical talent during that era however I am a bit suspect about the other "talent" he showcased. When it comes to those non-musical acts, whether it be comedy, dance, or something else I doubt one out of ten would even make the cut to be on America's Got Talent today. 

BTW I hope you are enjoying your Easter Monday. We had a wonderful weekend at the Timm household and our North Dakota Winter gave way to Spring this weekend. After many months of the temperature NOT breaking 40 degrees we crushed it yesterday with a high of 53. No flooding but did we ever have melting. 😄

Hello Bob - I am glad to read that spring is beginning to make its presence known in your area.  As for Ed Sullivan, I know who he was, remember watching him on occasion as a child but admit I am not sure I always "got him".

Same here Michael Jacobs . My parents never missed a show as it was cutting edge back in the day. I believe the show was an hour or more long so I'm glad they have boiled down these re-runs to a half hour.

As you know Will Hamm I am hoping to live long enough to see grandchildren. I understand how you would ant to see yours. I hope when my daughter has children that we will live near them so I see them often.

Well, Bob... it's Monday evening but I still enjoyed your morning post. It brought back memories of watching the Ed Sullivan Show with my mother and brother in the 50's and 60's. To this day, I remember seeing Elvis and The Beatles on his show... both were responsible major cultural/musical shifts. Then there were Tom Jones and Barbra Streisand.  He had some great comedians as well... who could forget Rodney Dangerfield? And how about Sonny & Cher? (By now, I've totally dated myself!)

Loved the cartoon and soooooo glad to hear Spring came for Eater weekend for you and your family! I have to admit I remember Ed Sullivan but only because my parents watched him but he wasn't my favorite.

The days of Ed Sullivan were simpler days, Bob.  When I was a kid, we had the duck and cover exercises in school because of the cold war.  We still have them; but for gun violence instead.

Good morning Nina Hollander, Broker . I totally remember every act you mentioned and I don't mean from seeing it recently but like yourself I remember watching them back when it was live. BTW Rodney Dangerfield will ALWAYS be one of my very favorite comedians. Now that I am watching the re-runs I am actually surprised at how often he had The Rolling Stones on as well as The Beatles. Recently I saw that he had Buddy Holly on... I don't remember that from back when.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX it has not been until I've been watching the re-runs that I have learned to appreciate Ed Sullivan's great eye for talent. I always thought he was just a strange looking old man from my youth. Now I have a lot of respect for him.

It really was a simpler time Myrl Jeffcoat yet I am sure our parents felt plenty of anxiety during the time of the cold war just as you and I do today from society seemingly spinning out of control. I too remember the cold war exercises but I do not remember how I felt about them at the time.

It was a good Easter Sheri Sperry - MCNE® . The 40 degree weather was such a blessing and then yesterday (Easter Monday) it hit the 50's. Today it is supposed to get to 71 degrees. My wife and daughter both purchased new Easter dresses and looked great.

Very true Brian England . Had I tried that in my twenties I maybe wouldn't have been in shock the first few times I looked in the mirror and saw that old guy looking back at me.

Hearing the song birds singing again is such a joy Kat Palmiotti . I saw and heard my first robin yesterday. I've been hearing the geese for about two weeks and am amazed at the shear number that has shown up in such a short period of time. I have yet to go out without a jacket as I have been having to many health issues yet to take the chance.

Although there was no one incident Kat Palmiotti it has been a long recovery from something. Currently I feel like I am close to the end of a cold and hopefully that will be the end of it. Walking Baby has been good for my recovery.

76 is a good summer day here Roy Kelley . That being said we are supposed to hit 70 today BUT after that we go back to 40 degrees for highs for a week.
