Texas Realtors have created an opportunity to achieve a Commercial Specialist designation. This designation is an intensive set of courses to equip the agent who desires to practice in the commercial arena with the skills and knowledge to help them excel. The 3-modules are comprised of 12 full days of instruction.
The Texas Accredited Commercial Specialist certification requires the completion of three 30-hour courses:
- TACS 1: Introduction to Commercial Real Estate. Topics include fundamentals of commercial real estate finance and economics
- TACS 2: Commercial Real Estate Property Development. Topics include commercial leasing, property development, and appraisal valuation methods
- TACS 3: Commercial Real Estate Marketing & Negotiation. Topics include assessing the merits of investment property, appropriate contract forms and addenda, and how to develop a self-aware business plan.
I am proud of our state association for creating this accreditation program to help our agents provide their commercial clients with their very best. Anyone who practices commercial real estate understands how very different it is from residential.
