We have had a lot of issues trying to find a landscaper for our Reno property. Our property has a backyard that looks over a nature area. It is a beautiful view and we were treated with a light dusting of snow to enjoy on our recent visit. It was gone by noon.
We needed to visit the property to pick some paint colors for the exterior, check the new air conditioning system that we just had installed and, we were hoping, to add some new landscaping to the backyard. We were more than surprised to find our backyard in disarray. There were weeds everywhere.

We hired a landscaper to clean up the backyard and have been paying him to maintain it for months. I wonder if he has even ventured into our backyard. It is obvious that the weeds have been growing for a long time. We spent three days in the yard weeding, pruning and cleaning it up. We filled up over 11 large trash bags. We still have more to do!
It was a very good reminder that regular inspections of rental properties are essential, no matter how much you trust everyone involved. I trusted my guy too much. Now, my guy is no longer my guy.
There is good news, too. The new air conditioner is working well and we picked some great colors for the exterior.
By the way, how do you like the music I picked for the YouTube Short, Lips are Moving, Meghan Trainor? I toyed with Sweet Little Lies, Fleetwood Mac, Would I Lie to You, the Eurythmics, and You Lie, The Band Perry. I also thought a little Elvis would have been fun, Suspicious Minds. Did I make the right choice?
