Dallas TX Homes for Sale Smiles To Housing Appreciation while The Rest of the Country Lingers On

Dallas Fox 4 News reported that Dallas is seeing appreciating real estate housing prices at 2.43% this past October when compared to last October. Great news for Dallas residents and those who are considering relocation to the metropolitan.

I am often asked "How the real estate market is doing? The doom and gloom was really wearing me down", said many of my friends during casual conversations they have with me. "The news media are really discouraging me. With all the foreclosure rates they are discussing, it feels like the world is coming to an end".

Well, at least I have something different to report this time. I almost jumped out of bed when I heard this on Fox 4 News at 6:54am this morning. It's simply un-heard of - at least when the media talks about real estate, the word APPRECIATING and media do not seem to ever jive together. But yes, I heard it this morning. Loud and clear.

So, sellers of real estate - It is not doom & gloom out there. At least not in our Dallas skies.

Future buyers of real estate - When putting an offer, more than likely, we will need to consider the SOLD market reports these homes are in. More than likely, we won't be plucking a number off the hat, "feeling" that the housing prices will continue to slum. At least not in our Dallas skies.

According to First American CoreLogic who prepared the data ranked Dallas #3 in the largest price increases behind Austin #1 (5.26%) and Houston #2 (4.46%) among the top 30 large markets. This is definitely good news for us in the State of Texas - where everything is bigger and better - apparently it's rosier too!

Some worst declining markets around the country are:
Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, California at 28.8%
Oakland-Fremont-Hayward, California at 28.6%
Miami-Miami Beach, Florida at 27.3%
Las Vegas, Nevada at 26.6%
Los Angeles-Long Beach-Glendale, California at 26.4%

Hi Loreena, I heard the good news about Austin market housing appreciation a few days ago. Now your market too. That's great. Here in Ann Arbor we have been in a declining market for more than a year- 18 months. Even with that, if a house is priced for the market & well staged it sells quickly.

Loreena, that is great news for the Dallas area.  I would have told you the same thing about Houston until we got smacked from Hurricane Ike but we are slowly coming back.

Loreena we didn't have the big upswing so when it swings the other way we haven't been impacted as much on price. Sales are down significantly year over year though.
