This morning I was taking my early morning 3 mile walk and was listening to NPR. They were talking about a list of words Lake Superior State University issued in the annual report that they felt needed to be banned from our usage! These are words they consider to be miss-used, over used or useless! I have to admit this list of words fell into a category for me that caused me to tune out the news! I got so sick of hearing the following:
Bailout - this was so obnoxious then re-written to the "Economic Stimulus Package"
Maverick - this was used so much I hate the word now!
Carbon Footprint - Yuk!!!!
Green - this is getting nauseating.
Game Changer - Yikes, who comes up with these words?
I'm sure there are other words we can think of but "Congratulations" Lake Superior State, you came up with a great list. Applause! Applause!
