We have a new addition to our area….can you guess what it might be?? Let me give you a hint: A place that everyone including your dog will enjoy! Can you believe we finely have our own PARK!?!?!?! Yes, here in Denver, NC (Lake Norman). There are plenty of parks around Lake Norman but this is the very first for us. Oh, how I would have loved it to be here when my son was little. Sally's Y Ride & Run ~ Denver, NC (LKN) UPDATE! Back in March I blogged about the 2nd Annual Ride for Sally's Y. The event was held this weekend and I am happy to report it was a HUGE success!! There were over 220 participants and 30+ volunteers at the event. We are pretty lucky where we live; only twenty miles from Charlotte, only twenty minutes from Hickory and Mooresville, and only forty minutes from Concord Mills in Concord, NC and the home of a NASCAR Speedpark. There are only four other NASCAR Speedparks around; one in Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Forge, and St. Louis, and the other is in Canada. I don't know which location was first but I do know that Pigeon Forge had theirs before we had ours. Our son loved Thomas the Tank Engine when he was little. In fact on his 4th birthday my husband purchased the complete Thomas the Tank Engine railroad set which included the round house, bridges, railroad cars, and it even included the Thomas toy box for storage of the set.
