(There are a couple different descriptions of waterfront: creek, pond, pool or river.) In this blog, I'm speaking specifically about the Washougal River. It does get very high sometimes. Along about Memorial Day...the Washougal River starts warming up enough to jump in and swim. It is snow-fed and spring fed too. Be careful about swimming, etc. before the water warms up...it can be downright icy!

(1919 SE Columbia River Dr., Vancouver WA 98661) Beaches Restaurant & Bar has wonderful food and drink combinations...my favorite meal is the "Beach House Salad" with jimica in it! Washougal WA is a DARLING of a Town! Delightful!

Washougal, WA is a quaint little town. It's a "sister" city to Camas, WA which used to be supported in a big way by Crown Zellerback paper mill, which is now known as Georgia Pacific.

Washougal was a great place to raise our four daughters. They all attended Washougal Schools. We, as parents participated in their school activities and sports so we could know their teachers and friends. (Check out GreatSchools.org for more school information.) Our home and front yard on the Washougal River isn't very big, but it's paradise to me. It's not expensively landscaped but it holds tons of fond memories. We invite our friends and family over on sunny days and everyone has a good time well into the evening when we gather to talk around our little fire pit. The whimsical yellow and green bench you see in the picture was made by my husband Mike. He can build just about anything.

Washougal River homes this March 8th, 2011....there are some pretty interesting homes on the river right now. To be honest, Washougal River homes begin pricing at about $300,000. That's true especially if you want the river-side homes with walk-down access and river frontage. Why have a river home if you can't enjoy the paradise that is river lifestyle?
