wind mitigation: Jay Lloyd Vs. The Tiny Attic Access - 08/19/10 03:26 PM
I did a Wind Mitigation Inspection this week. This inspection is usually requested by the homeowner, sometimes required by the insurance company. In Florida homeowners can get discounts on their homeowners policy by having the inspection.

wind mitigation: Citizens Updates Wind Mitigation Inspection Form in Florida - 04/26/10 01:06 PM
The wind mitigation inspection form for hurricane discounts from Citizens has been updated. The new form is 4 pages in length and requires photos on 6 different questions. The inspection form wording has changed putting more of the blame responsibility on the home inspector if/when the home sustains damage during a hurricane. These inspections will take more time and more research in order to be accurate and give the homeowner the discounts they're entitled to. I'll continue to perform these inspections to the best of my ability in hopes it helps reduce homeowners premiums for my clients.
