Need some relief from the heat? Maybe celebrating the spirit of Christmas is just the breath of fresh air that you need. The Marietta Merchants and Cobb Christmas are partnering again to make Christmas in July on the Marietta Square a huge success. Events include a 5k Flamingo run, V.I.P. breakfast with Santa, photos with Santa in Glover Park, activities for kids and a silent auction for all to enjoy. On Friday July 23rd and Saturday July 24th, the Marietta History Museum will host "Aviation Wing Sneak A Peek" at the Aviation Wing site located at the corner of Atanta Rd and S. Cobb Parkway. Another treasure that Mariettans savor are the wonderful productions presented at Theatre in the Square. Conveniently located off Marietta Square, Theatre in the Square has announced its 2010-11 upcoming season. This will be the 29th season that Theatre in the Square has offered high quality live theater. Live theater is a great treat, and just what locals and tourists need for those special evenings on the Square. From the beginning it received a warm reception and has been successful ever since. A great reason to visit the quaint town of Kennesaw, Georgia this summer is to help inaugurate a new pedestrian tunnel that addresses safety concerns and incorporates the history of the area. After nearly 14 years of planning, studying, fundraising and constructing, Kennesaw finally has its pedestrian underpass. Marietta, Georgia plans a weekend of celebrations to commemorate our country's independence.The festivities will begin on Saturday July 3rd. "Fourth in the Park" will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the Marietta Square. The Marietta Freedom Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church and head toward the Square.
