Once a platted portion of Hide-A-Way Hills, Kessler Swamp is now under the ownership and protection of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources through a generous donation. While Hocking county nature preserves usually showcase rare geological formations, the swamp plays home to various wildlife rare plant species. It is a host for water foul stopover and has even received its fair share of Bald Eagle sightings.Kessler Swamp is located less than 1/4 mile from the front gates of Hide-A-Way Hills and certainly deserves a quick stop if you're visiting the area.

After 24 hours, of a Level 3 Snow Emergency for Hocking County, the county roads including the private roads of Hide-A-Way Hills look fantastic. The private maintenance staff of the gated community of Hide-A-Way Hills proved to tackle the job of snow removal while residents took to the Hills for some outdoor winter fun.
