The Water Heater's Temperature Pressure Relief - 03/29/09 08:24 AM
The following is some great information on the Temperature Pressure Relief values on your water heater from InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) website www.internachi.org
TPR Valves and Discharge Piping
by Nick Gromicko, Rob London and Kenton Shepard
TPR (temperature pressure relief) valves are safety devices installed on water heating appliances such as boilers and domestic water supply heaters. TPRs are designed to automatically release water in the event that pressure or temperature in the water tank exceeds safe levels.   If temperature sensors and safety devices such as TPRs malfunction, water in the system may become superheated (exceed … (1 comments)

Must See new Movie, Brothers at War!! - 03/24/09 01:50 PM
Alice - Thanks for the post - I will be watching this film.  I made many deployments in my 20 years as an Airborne Infantryman made some great friends and lost some too.  I got a little choked up when Jake's brother talked about coming home and his daughter not knowing who he was.  After one very long deployment my oldest daughter, Nicole (Age 3) , did not recognize me as "Dad" for a couple of days and it hurt.  She did remember one night and it was like I never left.  Leaving ones family is the greatest sacrifice a soldier makes.

Obama first insults the Brits and then French. - 03/24/09 12:36 PM
Obama wrote a letter to Jacques Chirac of France.  In that letter Obama wrote "I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world."
The problem is the PrezBO thought Chirac was the President of France.  Wrong he is a Former President.  Nicolas Sarkozy is the current President of France.
Now if, say, Sarah Palin had done this the unbiased media and Terry would be full of outrage.

The Insult to the Brits was the recent visit by British … (17 comments)

Fannie and Freddie are paying out those bonuses. - 03/24/09 09:38 AM
Fannie and Freddie are paying out those bonuses.   Fannie and Freddie said in a letter written by James Lockhart (the federal regulator overseeing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) that there's a "great risk" of key employees walking away if they don't pay out the promised bonuses.  These Fannie and Freddie employee retention programs were established because federal officials believed top executives will play a critical role in ensuring the successful turnaround of the companies. Fannie and Freddie are in a  "conservatorship" overseen by the Federal Housing Finance Agency. In the letter Lockhart wrote "In September, when the conservatorships were established, I made clear to Congress that we had developed, … (3 comments)

YOUR GUY LIES MORE THAN MY GUY - 03/22/09 09:38 AM

It seems like this is what our political system has come down to. I love a good political debate and noone has ever accused me of being shy when it comes to my belief's. I have come to the popint in my life where I vote Pro-Life , nocompromise, everything else to me is seconday. I will vote for the person who takes a stand for the pre-born. Putting that side for the purposes of this post I am disgusted by the complete lack of integrity by our elected official. It … (0 comments)

AIG - Congress wants to Throwout The Rule of Law. - 03/19/09 10:11 AM
In the United States House of Representatives today they are trying to throwout the Rule of Law over the Congress' embarrassment.  What embarrassment? The AIG bonuses.
I know the emotional response for this is it is wrong, wrong, wrong!  BUT the question is What Laws have been broken? NONE.  AIG had contracts with their employees and they paid them what they were owed.
What has me personally outraged is Congress wants to pass a 'Special' Bill' to tax the people who recieved AIG bonuses because that is NOT FAIR.  Again no laws were broken.  This bill if passed WILL set a … (18 comments)

Obama Tax Plan vs. The FairTax - 03/18/09 03:14 AM
When you compare the President's Tax plan to the FairTax it is very hard to imagine anyone not picking the FairTax.  But when you talk to people about the FairTax they have only heard of the 23% sales tax and they have been misled about what that really means.  They have been told that the 23% sales tax is added to what they are already paying in taxes; when, the 23% sales tax will replace all of the other taxes we are paying for now at the federal level.
Here is a good chart to compare Obama's Plan to the FairTax:

Programs for this and that - 03/15/09 11:14 AM

Via Kevin Robinson ~I buy short sales (Crownline Home Builders):
When a state that used to be practically a world superpower itself can't pay it's own bills, is that a red flag that it's budget may be a bit overblown? When a state that used to be the centerpiece of the nation starts considering making an illegal drug legal, just so it can be taxed, is that a problem? When a state that just cut it's education budget by $13B, added a new tax burden of $15B, and is borrowing another $11B, is still going to be in the hole $8B for … (0 comments)

A Bare Boned Government? - 03/15/09 06:32 AM

What are the bare bone areas that the Federal Government should involved in?  The basics we want them working on with the taxes they take from us.

Defense -Most people when asked where their freedoms come from they will always say the Constitution; but without flesh and blood standing in front of the Constitution it would only be a piece of paper.
Secure our Borders - We must control and limit the people who come into this country.
Commerce - Both Interstate and with other nations needs to be mediated for a level playing field.  Interstate Transportation, Air Traffic … (8 comments)

Are you in Freedom, or out of Freedom? - 03/15/09 05:02 AM
When true words are spoken we should pass them on to anyone who will listen.
Via William Feela Owner/Broker North Branch,MN (Whispering Pines Realty):
I was sent this paragraph.  I do not know the origin, but was asked ot pass it on.  After reading it, I thought others would like to also.  So here it is!
You cannot legislate the Poor into Freedon, by legislating the Wealthy out of Freedom.  What one person receives without working for, another person must work without receiving.  The Government cannot give to anybody anything that it first does not take from some one else.  When half the people get the idea … (0 comments)

Honoring the 80% - 03/12/09 05:57 PM

Honoring Who?  The 80%? Who are the 80%?
80% of all the servicemen and women who have died serving their country were part of the Infantry...
And on June 19, 2009 the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center is Scheduled to open to the public.
The museum's collection valued at over $30 million and spans the history of the United States Army's Infantry.  The oldest and largest branch of the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Infantry was established on June 14, 1775, when the Continental Congress ordered the formation of ten companies of riflemen. The riflemen comprised the first armed force … (6 comments)

Cutting Taxes....So why... - 03/04/09 04:26 PM
Obama said he wants to cut taxes to 95% of American, when why are Senate Democrats planning to start tax an workers on the healthcare paid for or sponsored by their employer.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus who will be a key player in writing any healthcare bill has said "I think that tax provision should be on the table". Baucus also said of the current non taxable status of an employees healthcare "It's too aggressive. It skews the system,"
160 million workers in the U.S. with health insurance get it through their employers and will hopefully meet with resistance from labor … (8 comments)

If a company can't compete.... - 03/03/09 04:03 PM
Now I know everyone thought that if we give troubled companies some financial help those companies would manage to get themselves out of trouble.  (I almost typed that without laughing.)
I think any company (i.e. banks, automakers, newspaper or insurance) who has made themselves unable to compete due to mismanagement, poor union contracts or just bad decisions should not be bailout by government.  If someone in the private sector wants to throw them a life line, fine but it should not be government.
Now I do feel for the people whose lives will and are effected by the failure of a company; but … (12 comments)
