utah: Park City, UT Real Estate Statistics Through April 2012 - 05/15/12 04:42 AM
The Park City Board of Realtors statistics through April 2012 show that Gross Sales Volume of $349M was down 2% from the same period in 2011, though sales for the month of April were stronger than April, 2011.  Overall pending sales are up over April 2011. Distressed properties are having a minimal impact on the current market, as the inventory of distressed properties has been reduced considerably. 
Single Family Home Sales showed strength in April and are 56% of the total Sales Volume and are about even with 2011.  Thaynes Canyon, Deer Crest, Park Meadows, Kimball and Heber homes showed growth. … (0 comments)

utah: Utah Job Growth Still Better Than The National Average - 06/23/08 06:52 AM
Utah employment grew 1.4 percent in May compared with a national increase of just 0.1 percent.  April job growth was 1.9 percent.
 
Mark Knold, the chief economist at the Utah Department of Workforce Services, says industries searching for workers include health care, information technology and life sciences.
 
Utah's unemployment rate is 3.2 percent compared to the national average of 5.5 percent

utah: Utah Continues to Lead the Nation in Housing Appreciation! - 05/29/08 05:54 AM
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight recently reported that Utah continues to lead the Nation in Housing Appreciation with a Four-Quarter rate, ending Q1 2008,  of 5.6%.  Only Utah and Wyoming had rates over 5% and there were only fourteen states that had negative appreciation, with California, Nevada, Florida and Arizona with the most significant declines. A total of 36 states still had positive growth
 
Utah remains strong with an economy that is high in Job Growth and a low Unemployment rate.

utah: UTAH HOME PRICES HAD THE LARGEST YEAR OVER YEAR GAIN! - 03/18/07 08:00 AM
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight recently reported that home prices were up 5.9% in 2006, the slowest price gain since 1999. In 2005 prices were rising at more than 13%.
"These data show that, on the whole, prices are still rising, albeit at a much slower pace," said James Lockhart, director of OFHEO. "This suggests that house price appreciation, is for now, more in line with historical norms"
However, Provo, Utah (19.9%) and Salt Lake City, Utah (19.8%) were among the fastest price gains and only 25 of 282 cities showing lower prices on a year-over-year basis.

utah: Park City's National Ability Center Makes Bobsled History! - 12/31/06 03:09 AM
On December 8th and 9th, 2006 bobsled history was made at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, UT. National Ability Center athletes Aaron Lanningham and Matt Profitt became the first athletes with disabilities to forerun a World Cup bobsled event. Aaron, the driver has paraplegia and Matt, the break man, is a below the knee amputee. As a result of their success the National Ability Center bobsled team has been invited to participate in the America's Cup this weekend. Matt and Aaron had consistently successful runs through out the course of the World Cup.
