Uptown Whittier's Grand Illumination takes place Friday, December 3, 2010 in Uptown Whittier. Come see the lighting of the 25-foot tall Christmas tree and enjoy the music of Uptown Whittier. It all takes place from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. on Friday at Rick's In & Out Burger. Enjoy the music of the season and the holiday cheer of Uptown Whittier. You can get your picture taken with Santa Claus or enjoy the Christmas carolers, the horse drawn carriage and the high school marching band. Tropicana Juice Sales at Uptown Whittier Family Fair I stopped at the Tropicana Juice table at the Whittier Uptown Family Fair and spoke with the salesman there. He was enthusiastic about his great fruits and juices, as you can see in the video. After the video, I bought a delicious bowl of fruit there for my dinner. It had mango (que mango!), blackberries, strawberries and a couple other fruits. Man, it was good! If you are looking for a great bowl of fresh fruit on Wednesday evening, this is the place to get it!

There are two libraries in Whittier. The Central Library is Uptown Whittier. The Whittwood Branch is located on Santa Gertrudes in the Whittwood Neighborhood. Of course, you don't have to read the book at the library; you can use your library card to check it out. Take it home and read it over a couple of weeks. Today, while I was coming out of a house I was previewing, I heard a humming noise. At first, I didn't know what it was. When I was able to figure out which direction it was coming from, I turned around and saw an enormous group of bees gathering around the house next door. As I looked closer, I saw thousands of bees gathering on the wall of the house. whittier: Whittier Parnell Park Has a New Bird in the Zoo

I went to Parnell Park today to see if I could take a few pictures of the animals in the little zoo. Well, since the zoo was closed, I was only able to take a few pictures through the wrought iron fence. Here is a picture of a goat. Here is a view of the backside of the Shetland ponies. Now, the biggest surprise of all was the new, big bird that was out of its cage. It was the biggest bird I have ever seen. And, it was pulling the largest worm I have ever seen out of the ground.

My First Home was in the Whittwood area of Whittier, California. My parents bought the home on La Forge Street when it was built, in 1952. Those homes sold between $10,000 and $15,000, depending on the features and landscaping. Today, the average price for homes in the Whittwood area is over $650,000; so, you could say there has been some real estate appreciation. Our home was nice, with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.
