If you're a buyer looking to purchase in Harford county, MD, you really should get going. Houses are selling like...well, hotcakes.
An amazing thing is happening in and around Harford County, Maryland. Higher priced properties - the kind that historically stay on the market longer than more affordably-priced properties - are selling in record time.
It appears that BRAC is in full-force in Harford county. Military families relocating from New Jersey's Fort Monmouth to Maryland's Aberdeen Proving Ground are finding the right home at the right price and are making a move...literally.

Who'da thunk I'd ever use the words Bel Air and skyline in the same sentence? I mean, really, considering the fact that Bel Air has no skyline, it all seems too incongruous. But there they are, in the same sentence, and still Bel Air is without a skyline - but not for long.
Apparently, town officials are in the midst of planning for Bel Air, Maryland's first 5-story building in the downtown district. Woo-hoo! No, really - whoo-hoo! This is a big deal for Bel Air residents. Just as we're getting used to … (0 comments)

There's good news on the home front (pun intended) for home buyers interested in purchasing in Marylands's northeastern county of Harford.
After much wrangling back and forth, it has been determined that there will be no increase in the county's transfer tax. The County Council's request to increase the tax has fallen on deaf ears.
The current tax is imposed on all real estate transactions and is 1% of the sales price of the particular property. The Council proposed an increase of ½%, translating to a total transfer tax of 1.5%.

It's the Bel Air Chocolate Festival held at the Bel Air Armory on Main Street in downtown Bel Air, Maryland and it's the place to be on Saturday, March 3rd from 9 to 4. Mark your calendars.
All kinds of chocolate creations from confections and candy to desserts will be featured, and the local folks that create these masterpieces will be there, too. Bring $5 for admission and you'll get five tastes of the many treats available.

There's a new kid in town and he's all dressed up and ready to party.
The Town of Bel Air has just completed renovations to the Bel Air Armory on Main Street. And the Armory now hosts a brand spanking new Visitors' Center.
The official opening is scheduled for Saturday, February 17th from 11 to 3 when the Armory will hold an Open House for the general public. Lots of goodies are scheduled like a slide show highlighting Bel Air's regional attractions, a display featuring historical Main Street photos, and refreshments for Open House attendees.

Kimmie's at it again.
Bel Air's own, Kimmie Meissner, won the Ladies competition at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado this past week.
While it's no surprise that the extraordinary Olympian* teenager won yet another ice skating championship, how she did it is remarkable indeed. You see, Kimmie was in sixth place before the final round. She had some difficulty with completing her short program, falling along the way.
