bel air real estate: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb - 06/23/10 09:36 AM
Me? I'm an old(er) broad. I've been here a minute or two. Them? They're an accident waiting to happen. <Do I dole out some sage advice in an attempt to head off impending trouble at the pass? Or... Do I keep my mouth shut because it's really none of my business?> Ah, what to do...what to do? It happens all the time; I see someone about to make a big mistake and I'm suddenly in a quandary. Big mistake translates to financial and/or real estate-related. It could be family, friend, stranger, or foe. It's an equal opportunity type of situation. It's the

bel air real estate: State of the County - 06/23/10 09:11 AM
State of the State County If you're a buyer looking to purchase in Harford county, MD, you really should get going. Houses are selling like...well, hotcakes. An amazing thing is happening in and around Harford County, Maryland. Higher priced properties - the kind that historically stay on the market longer than more affordably-priced properties - are selling in record time. It appears that BRAC is in full-force in Harford county. Military families relocating from New Jersey's Fort Monmouth to Maryland's Aberdeen Proving Ground are finding the right home at the right price and are making a move...literally. Homes priced

bel air real estate: New Look For Downtown Bel Air - SKYLINE? - 04/20/07 10:22 PM
Bel Air, Maryland - Lanette Branch, Realtor Who'da thunk I'd ever use the words Bel Air and skyline in the same sentence? I mean, really, considering the fact that Bel Air has no skyline, it all seems too incongruous. But there they are, in the same sentence, and still Bel Air is without a skyline - but not for long. Apparently, town officials are in the midst of planning for Bel Air, Maryland's first 5-story building in the downtown district. Woo-hoo! No, really - whoo-hoo! This is a big deal for Bel Air residents. Just as we're getting used to

bel air real estate: Harford County Legislators say, "Read my lips - NO NEW TAXES"! - 02/28/07 10:32 AM
Harford County, Maryland - Lanette Branch, REALTOR There's good news on the home front (pun intended) for home buyers interested in purchasing in Marylands's northeastern county of Harford. After much wrangling back and forth, it has been determined that there will be no increase in the county's transfer tax. The County Council's request to increase the tax has fallen on deaf ears. The current tax is imposed on all real estate transactions and is 1% of the sales price of the particular property. The Council proposed an increase of ½%, translating to a total transfer tax of 1.5%. But, that

bel air real estate: Bel Air's Hometown Heroine, Kimmie Meissner - 02/16/07 12:30 AM
Kimmie's at it again. Bel Air's own, Kimmie Meissner, won the Ladies competition at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado this past week. While it's no surprise that the extraordinary Olympian* teenager won yet another ice skating championship, how she did it is remarkable indeed. You see, Kimmie was in sixth place before the final round. She had some difficulty with completing her short program, falling along the way. Fortunately for her, and all her many fans here in Bel Air, Maryland and around the world, the final round was her best. It was the long program,
