charlote homes for sale: Gift Shops in Charlotte NC - 11/27/08 02:56 PM
My last post was about traditional malls.  But, there are some non traditional places in Charlotte, NC that really make it unique.  One of them is called Paper Skyscraper on East Boulevard.  It's a hip, urban store, stuck right in the middle of one of the trendiest sections of town.  It's located in Dilworth, but it's just a skip and a jump from Myers Park.  It's a goofy gift shop with a ton of off the wall gear.  The only other place I've seen anything like it is in the Village in New York City.
They recently expanded their store, and … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Happy Thanksgiving from Charlotte Nc - 11/27/08 02:33 PM
For all of you in northern climates, you should know that Thanksgiving in Charlotte NC was an absolutely gorgeous day.  It was about sixty degrees farenheit at its warmest point.
There's a lot to be thankful for in Charlotte NC this year. With Thanksgiving almost out of the way, many people in the Charlotte Area are plotting their moves tomorrow and over the weekend to take advantage of the deep discounts retailers are offering for what is usually the busiest days of the year at the mall.  I guess we'll have to hide and watch to see if that's true … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Southern Chrismas Show in Charlotte NC - 11/22/08 03:45 PM
The Southern Christmas Show is still going on in Charlotte NC.  It started on Nov. 13 and will continue until Nov. 23.  Can you believe the Christmas season has already begun? The Southern Christmas show has been happening in Charlotte NC for 41 years.  It is a tradition here just as much as turkey on Thanksgiving.
The event is hosted at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart.  It is located by Cricket Arena, which was of Charlotte's older Colluseums.  Now it's the only old Colluseum.  The home of the Charlotte Hornets has been torn down.  The only two that remain are Cricket … (1 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Carolina Panthers Take on Rival Falcons Sunday - 11/22/08 03:30 PM
The Carolina Panthers are coming off a win at home last week against the Detroit Lions.  I  was a little scared in the first half.  The Panthers let in two early touchdowns against the Lions, which they shouldn't have. That game was entirely too close.
This week the Panthers are up against the Falcons.  Mind you, Atlanta used to be a formidable opponent.  Michael Vick used to beat the Panthers up and down the field. Lucky for animals everywhere, including the panthers, Vick isn't currently playing football.  That doesn't mean it's an easy game.  In the NFL, everyone is good. … (1 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Hansbrough's back causing havoc - 11/22/08 03:14 PM
So whether you're a Duke fan a Wake fan, or your college is unlucky enough to be playing UNC this year, this is big news.  Tyler Hansbrough is back in the lineup for the Tar Heels.  Chapel Hill lost it's all american center to a shin injury in practice early in the season.
The seven foot tall freshman Tyler Zeller filled in for a few games and showed his stuff.  He shows promise, fortunately for UNC, and unfortunately for everyone else.  Many people made comparisons to Hansbrough. However, the analysis was cut short as the freshman is out for the season … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Concerts in Charlotte NC - 11/22/08 03:02 PM
Here's an example of big name acts that come through Charlotte NC and make owning Charlotte NC real estate so worthwhile.  Reba and Kelly Clarkson are touring and stopped by Time Warner Cable Arena.  If this isn't a big name concert I don't know what is.  Reba has been entertaining audiences for a long time in a lot of different ways.  She started as a singer, got her own sitcom and she's back to being a singer.  But, I don't think there's any doubt she put on a great show.
Kelly Clarkson is about as big as it gets right … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Good news for football fans in Charlotte NC - 11/22/08 02:53 PM
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the Board of Trustees University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which is located in the north eastern part of Charlotte, NC, near Concord, NC real estate, approved a recommendation to build a football program.  This is big news for the Charlotte area football fans.  There is currently college football, like at Johnson C Smith University, but it's Division II.  The important part of this move is that the football program will represent Charlotte's largest university.  UNCC will play at the Division I level.
Launching a football program is no small undertaking.  Football is an … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Auto show at the Charlotte NC Convention Center - 11/21/08 03:22 PM
If you just checked out my last post, you'd find that there is a green living expo in Concord, NC.  In Charlotte, the expos and conventiosn arem much bigger and better.  The Charlotte, NC International Auto Show is coming to the Charlotte Convention Center this weekend.  It may not be the Frankfurt Auto Show, or the LA Auto Show, or Detroit, where the newest models are debuted, but it's still an exciting event.
Even if you aren't in the market for a new car, the car show is a fun, family appropriate event to see the new products that the … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Changes in Charlotte NC Public Transportation - 11/18/08 02:53 PM
Many cities are getting serious about their public transportation offerings.  After some failed ideas, Charlotte NC is changing their approach.  Amenities like light rail and I-485 make Charlotte North Carolina Real Estate more livable.
Light rail is starting to settle in as a major part of the city's transportation infastructure.  People were using it more as gas prices went sky high last summer and in the wake of the fall hurricane in Texas.  I don't know what the numbers are like currently, but ridership to the Panthers games remains strong, you can see it when you try to fit yourself on … (3 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Carolina Panthers Win in Charlotte NC on Sunday - 11/18/08 02:39 PM
In a not-so-surprising game on Sunday, the Carolina Panthers beat the Detroit Lions in Charlotte NC. The Panthers are 8-2 while the Lions are stuck at 0-10.
However, the game wasn't as clear cut as it seems.  Detroit came out swinging and scored two touchdowns early.  I was actually scared for a few mintues.  I also forgot that Daunte Culpepper, the Lion's quarterback is a huge guy, that isn't easily tackled.  The program said he weighs 260, but he could weigh more.
Despite the cold weather, the stadium was far from empty.  It's even more surprising that the stadium … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: College Sports in Charlotte NC - 11/15/08 02:22 PM
Let's face it, sports are a big part of entertainment in American culture.  Charlotte North Carolina offers some of the best of them.  Charlotte offers professional sports, but also has a whole slew of college sporting events as well.  Some people prefer college sports because the athletes are hungrier.  I think both of them offer strengths.
There are some things you need to know about the sports teams around North Carolina, if you're interested in Charlotte North Carolina Real Estate.  There are several big ACC colleges within driving distance of Charlotte NC.  Wake Forest is in Winston Salem, which is … (1 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Charlotte Bobcats play this weekend also - 11/15/08 01:56 PM
One of the advantages of Charlotte NC Real Estate is its proximity to big city amenities.  There are tons of professional sporting events to keep you entertained.  Just choose the one you like.  Charlotte has made significant investment in its sporting infrastructure in the past fifteen years.  The city has seen two major construction projects go up in uptown Charlotte.  Panthers stadium is one.  Time Warner Cable arena is the other.  This Colosseum is home to the Charlotte Bobcats, a relatively new NBA franchise that started up after the Charlotte Hornets left town.
With five losses this early in the season, … (0 comments)

charlote homes for sale: Carolina Panthers play in Charlotte this weekend - 11/15/08 01:37 PM
Professional football is a great reason to get excited about Charlotte NC Real Estate.  The Carolina Panthers were an expansion team in the NFC South and took a while to get their footing.  They entered the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Coming off a win in Oakland where the Panthers beat the Raiders 17-6, the Panthers look forward to playing the Detroit Lions at home. I may be biased, since I live in Charlotte NC, but Detroit isn't playing well.  Ok, there's no room for bias when Detroit hasn't won a game all season.  It really isn't their best year, … (0 comments)
