Palm Beach Gardens home prices and sales remained flat in August, 2010 compared with a month earlier giving buyers continued opportunities to sign great deals throughout the area. The median price of a single family home in Palm Beach County has fallen where it was in March 2003, at $227,800, about 46 percent below the peak level of $405,000 experienced in June 2006, according to statistics from the Florida Realtors Association. Home sales in Palm Beach Gardens and throughout Palm Beach County increased 17 percent in May, 2010 compared with a year earlier, but were down slightly from April, according to statistics from the Florida Association of Realtors. At the same time, the price of single family homes appears to have stabilized, slightly lower than April figures, but about the same as 2009 prices and right about at the 2003 price level for single family homes. The Florida State Legislature will return to session in Tallahassee in early June for a special session devoted solely to property tax reform. Governor Crist called back state lawmakers after the legislature adjorned in early May without taking final action on property tax reform. Homeowners throughout Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Juno Beach, Jupiter and all of Palm Beach County were disappointed in the inaction, but are anxiously awaiting the special session next month.
