Six more things you wish you didn't know about MeMe - 11/30/08 10:42 PM
My new online friend, Lisa Friedman, tagged me for this MeMe. How much do you love AR? I am sure she found me or I found her because we share a love of animals. Whatever the sequence of events, she tagged me to complete this Six Useless Things About MeMe. I've put it off, but here I go. 1) I do not remember how to get anywhere. It doesn't matter how many times I have been to your house, I will still print the directions just in case I somehow spaz out and forget where to turn. When I turned 16 (17 comments)
Carrie Hill joins Terrylynn & Team (I love making websites!) - 11/25/08 07:27 PM
We have a new team member, Carrie Hill of Diablo Realty. We are very happy to have Carrie on board. She has lived in the area for most of her life and is familiar with the neighborhoods. Carrie is an animal lover, which goes a long way with me. She has currently been added as a volunteer at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum, which is so fun! She gets to educate children and adults about local wildlife and how to protect it. The Wildlife Museum also takes in injured wildlife to nurse back to health. I'm also happy because Carrie is fun. Holiday Raffle?! - 11/25/08 06:49 PM
Amanda Hall asked me for an update about our local crisis center, and I am sorry to say it's not great news. From the Crisis Center website I was directed to a video and article on ABC News. According to this article, the Crisis Center is receiving an average of 70 new families per week requesting help. According to this article, the Crisis Center will not have enough holiday meal baskets to take care of all of their clients. They will be holding a Holiday Raffle for both Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner and only the lucky "chosen" families will receive (7 comments)
Save some money on your electric bill... - 11/22/08 04:42 PM
I had to reblog this for people who might see my blog but not Terrylynn's. The fact about my sister's electric bill is TRUE. The only change she made was to switch all bulbs in the house, and her bill went down from $600 to around $180 I believe (yes, she has a BIG house). That's an amazing difference, and I know most of us are tightening up the budget lately!

Concord, CA Visit The Old Spaghetti Factory 11/19/08 and help the Monument Crisis Center - 11/17/08 07:19 PM
On Wednesday, November 19th from 5pm to 9pm bring THIS FLYER to The Old Spaghetti Factory with you and 15% of the proceeds will benefit the Monument Crisis Center. I was just on the Crisis Center website to find this flyer to share with you. On the press page there was a statement saying they've been very low on food the last two months and even had to close for a couple of days due to lack of food. The Crisis Center provides food, education, assistance, referrals to families and individuals in crisis situations, and promotes community awareness of needs (8 comments)

Children of Grace - Today is a Happy Day - 11/05/08 05:41 PM
I am feeling strange and pessimistic, but I am not going to share that because today IS a happy day. In fact, this whole election year has been a good thing because now EVERY little girl knows she could be president. Today, every little child of color knows he or she could be president. That is a good thing, whichever way you voted. It's also a good day because I received a letter from my sponsor child, Papa. I sponsor Papa through Children of Grace. This organization helps children in Uganda to attend school and have at least one healthy meal (40 comments)
Then I realized that there are many, many Active Rain and Facebook friends who live in my area and we should get together. Mentioned it to Terrylynn who said, "Well come with me to the local Round Tables." Why didn't I think of that! : )

Californians Vote NO on Prop 8. Wedding story #3. - 11/03/08 02:33 PM
There is no exuse for Proposition 8 to even be on the ballot in California since discrimination is illegal. I thought I would share one of the wedding stories I have had the pleasure of posting to a community center website. Vote No on Prop 8. Keith and Tom, September 15, 2007 We had our more public wedding on Sept 15th, 2007 with 110 of our friends and family attending. It was held at the Marriott in Walnut Creek (both the service and the reception). Keith's brother Laurence officiated and he did a great job. It was a lot of planning, (10 comments)

Marlette and Wendy, June 27, 2008 Twelve years ago our lives entwined. Kismet is the word for it. That moment when you know you've met the "one". We have been each other's "one" since then. And after one child, six cats, and a grandchild we had pretty much settled in. Then May 15th happened. Already (4 comments)

"Chris does my website and we have been working together for a year. In one word she is AMAZING! My invoice each month is pennies compared to what I get from her. She also does my promotional flyers... I have recommended her to everyone I know and they are never disappointed."
