Everyone knows it gets hot in Scottsdale in the summer. Many people in trying to sell their luxury home in the valley believe that summer is the time to give your listing a siesta and take it off the market. The thinking is, who wants to be looking at houses when the mercury is above 110 degrees (even if it is a dry heat). Additionally, since our snowbird populations evaporates during the summer months, the buyer population decreases.

A new luxury community opened this week in Scottsdale, and we had an opportunity to take a tour. The development called White Horse is the creation of Camelot Homes and consists of 47 lots being constructed over two phases, located off of Pima Road and Los Gatos. The project offers five different floor plans ranging from 4,190 to 5,932 square feet for the base home, but there are multiple options to add on bonus rooms and casitas for additional square footage.

This is a big weekend in Scottsdale. The Barrett-Jackson car auction opens today which is followed shortly by the Russo-Steele car auction. If you are in the Scottsdale area and have never experienced one of these shows, you must go. It is an amazing event with every kind of car imaginable on the auction block. A few years ago they even auctioned off the original Batmobile from the 1960’s era show, which sold for $4.2 Million (and with all the modifications it is not even legal to drive it anywhere).

Whisper Rock is one of the premier communities in North Scottsdale, AZ. For 2017 a total of nine homes sold with the median price being $2.3 Million. There are currently 14 homes on the market ranging from $1.595 Million to and a high price of $3,915 Million. Homes in Whisper Rock have sold slowly in recent years, but we listed and sold one home that went under contract in 38 days, and closed in 52.
