Just 4 days after fire charred the upper floors of the Monte Carlo on the Las Vegas Strip workers enter to begin repairs. On Friday, thousands were evacuated as flames shot out of the top floor windows. The smoke could be seen from many parts of the valley. Las Vegas hosted its marathon with all sorts of events and entertaining motives only Vegas could offer. Many ran the 26.2 mile race to compete, if nothing else, against themselves. However, others had alternative motives. Of some 17,000 racers, a few dozen were married in route.
