Koi Pond or Pool? I have a neighbor who is trying to figure out what to do with his half acre plus lot. Koi Pond or Pool? He is concerned about his return on investment as well.
We live in a very hot part of California where summer temperatures can often reach into above 100 degrees during the daytime.
I have experience with a pool and know that pool pumps need to run 4-6 hours in the summer months while you are using it and 2-3 hours in the off season months which can add quite a bit to your energy bills. But … (5 comments)

Hydroplane Races on Folsom Lake - Big Wake Weekend
It's been over 40 years since we've had Hydroplane Races on Folsom Lake but May 31st thru June 2nd, 2013, Big Wake Weekend brings them back! 1966 and 1967 these racing boats, the world's largest and fastest ran on Folsom Lake in what was called the Sacramento Cup back then. The boats look much different from those days but the incredible speed is still a common sight to see! Today's hydroplanes go about 200mph!

There are lots of homes selling in El Dorado Hills these days. And in March there were 78 to be exact! Here is the high and low along with some statistics on the 78 home sales. The Lowest Selling Home in El Dorado Hills last month was 3574 Rolph Way in the Ridgeview area. It had 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1912 square feet, was built on .27 acres in 1976 and sold for $205,000. Attitude I have seen this quote many times over my years and have been reminded of it recently at a Lyon training event. It is so true. Attitude is everything! Looking at just the number of sold homes in El Dorado Hills over the past 8 years they don't look very different from month to month. But this El Dorado Hills Market Report looks at the homes for sale as well and tells a much different story. Two of my favorite things and one of my favorite events (because it includes the both of them) is happening this weekend - Wine and Chocolate in Lodi! February tends to be a big chocolate month because of Valentines and it has become a tradition to venture down to Lodi for this fun and oh so yummy event. And from El Dorado Hills it is just over an hour drive!
Over 40 wineries are participating with there own activities such as wine and chocolate pairings, barrel tastings, cellar tours, and live music.
